Maybe the Reason It Isn’t Working Is Because You’re Meant to Do It Differently

Here’s a wild thought: maybe your body isn’t broken.
Maybe the system you’re trying to fit into just wasn’t built for you.

I talk to women every week who think they’ve lost their edge. They’ll say things like, “My body just doesn’t respond anymore,” or “What used to work doesn’t work now.”
And my first question is always, “Work for who?” Because if we’re being honest, most of the fitness and health models we were handed were designed around young, uninjured, hormonally stable men—and we’ve been trying to remix that ever since.

When I hit surgical menopause at 38, every “expert” told me to just eat less, move more, and manage stress. Cute idea—until you realize my stress was trying to manage the nonsense advice. My body didn’t need more restriction; it needed more respect.

Women in midlife are constantly told to fix themselves instead of understanding themselves.
Doctors call symptoms “normal.” Coaches call fatigue “lack of discipline.” The media calls it “aging gracefully,” which is code for “stay small and quiet while your body rebuilds itself without any real support.”

The truth is, nothing’s wrong with you. You’re just finally living in a body that demands better input.
Better recovery.
Better boundaries.
Better conversations about hormones, not hush-hush taboos about “the change.”

And yeah, that means doing things differently.
You might need heavier strength work but less high-intensity chaos.
You might need protein like it’s your part-time job.
You might need rest days that actually count as rest.

Doing it differently isn’t failure—it’s evolution.
It’s what happens when women stop apologizing for adapting.

So if the old way isn’t working anymore, that’s your cue.
Your body’s not broken.
It’s breaking the mold.

If you’re ready to stop guessing what your body needs, start with The LEA Protocol. It’s a comprehensive guide for women navigating low energy availability, hormonal shifts, and strength training that actually supports recovery.
